Congleton Food and Drink Festival is all about the Community
Share, Learn, Improve events a huge success
The Local Food team has been out and about across the country over the last few weeks hosting a series of eight ‘Share, Learn, Improve’ events for funded projects.
We were so pleased with the events; we have decided to run another series in the autumn! To find out more about the events CLICK HERE.

Beartown food
Now up and running is an exciting new venture for local food producers and anyone who wants to source local products. To find out more about this project and how to place an order check out thier website at http://www.congletonfood.co.uk/
The Congleton Food and Drink Festival Team would like to wish Beartown Food every success in their enterprise!
The Food and Drink festival coincides with National Cycle Week so the Congleton Cycling Campaign usually organise a Pedalling Picnic to celebrate – it’s a safe ride for all abilities along the Biddulph Valley Railway, arriving at Biddulph Country Park to have a picnic and then cycle back to enjoy the Festival.

Mid week as part of Tasty Town Week, Congleton Town Council hosts a delightful Teddy Bear’s Picnic in the Park and organise events and activities for all our pre-school kids and families with very young children and so far the weather has always been very kind to us.

In the picture above the then Town Mayor, Councillor David Martin, is featured with the bears. Sadly David passed away in December 2011 after a rapid illness. He will be greatly missed by us all but we will always remember his dedication to the town and his constant smile.
It’s because of the community strength in the Festival that we can attract funding and we would like to thank the following people -
Inclosure Trust, The Town Council and our main sponsor the Dean Trust who make the whole Festival possible.
For other community activities relating to sustainability, growing your own, sourcing locally etc check out the grow, cook, eat, enjoy page
We were also happy to have the support of Cheshire Marshals who joined with Rotary members and other volunteers to ensure the safety of the public throughout Festival Day
